Privacy Policy
What Neon Focus accesses, what stays on your phone, and when external services are involved.
Effective 1 October 2026 · Covers Android review build 1.29 and the website. Future purchase features are identified separately.
1. Local information and its purpose
The app keeps your entered name and goal, selected app limits, usage totals, alarm settings, timer and stopwatch state, goal dates and feature preferences in app-private storage. These support your chosen focus tools. Usage history and your installed-app list are not uploaded to our server. Installed app names, package identifiers and icons are used locally to display apps and apply supported controls.
Selected photos are obtained through Android's photo picker, copied to app-private storage and resized for supported backgrounds and widgets. The app does not request access to your entire gallery or upload these photos. Removing a photo deletes the app's copy. Home-screen widgets can expose your photo, goal or countdown to anyone viewing your screen.
2. Permissions and optional controls

3. Network access and third parties
DNS guard: an optional local DNS-only VPN checks domain rules and sends upstream domain lookups to Cloudflare Family DNS (1.1.1.3 / 1.0.0.3). Cloudflare receives those queries and ordinary connection information. Normal app traffic is not routed through our remote server, and HTTPS contents are not decrypted. Other VPNs, encrypted DNS, cached addresses and direct IP connections can affect protection.
Model downloads: optional models are downloaded over HTTPS from GitHub and checked against expected SHA-256 hashes. The hosting provider receives normal request information such as your IP address. Model inference is local. Songs and the Friend introduction's video and voice are bundled; no streaming account is required.
Email support: if you contact us, our email provider receives your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. Share only what is needed; do not send passwords, PINs, payment-card details or private keys.

4. Purchases, integrity and trial status
Billing is disabled in the current review build. The following describes the implemented purchase flow planned for a configured Google Play release; it is not a claim that payments are currently available.
When activated, Google Play handles checkout. Neon Focus does not receive your card or bank information and does not read your Gmail inbox or discover your email address. Restore uses the Google Play account that made the purchase. Google Play Billing purchase tokens, Play Integrity tokens, a random installation identifier and per-request identifiers are sent to an HTTPS entitlement service to verify access. Google supplies integrity signals about the app, device and Play licensing; an integrity verdict alone is not proof of purchase.
The service verifies purchases through Google's APIs, signs entitlement responses, stores anonymous trial/idempotency records and encrypted purchase retry jobs, and may use Google Device Recall trial/lifetime flags to remember status after reinstall. Local verified receipts are cached using Android Keystore protection. PINs, selected photos, screen frames and usage history are not sent for billing. Temporary integrity errors are treated as unavailable evidence, not proof that a user tampered with the app.
Server deployment, retention schedules and the operational deletion process must be finalized and this policy reviewed before billing is activated. Uninstalling will not remove Google's purchase records or Device Recall state. Contact us for applicable data requests; some records may need to be retained for purchases, fraud prevention or legal obligations.
5. Storage, security and screenshots
General preferences are not all encrypted. The optional app PIN is stored as a salted PBKDF2 verifier protected by an Android Keystore AES-GCM key. Hardware-backed protection depends on the phone. Cloud credentials and server private keys are not placed in the app. No system can guarantee complete security.
Screenshots are currently allowed. Sensitive information visible in Neon Focus or its widgets may therefore appear in screenshots you take or share. Protection models can miss content or make mistakes. This app is not a medical, emergency or guaranteed safety service.
There is no advertising SDK or cloud analytics integration in the reviewed app. Developer diagnostics may record non-sensitive status/error categories in debug builds; integrity and purchase tokens must not be logged. Android and Google Play may separately provide their platform diagnostics under their policies.
6. Retention, deletion and your choices
Local settings and history remain until changed, cleared or removed with app data. You can clear safety-event history in Guard, remove individual background photos, revoke permissions in Android Settings, or clear storage/uninstall. Disable Device Admin first if enabled. Android controls remain available even where an in-app block cannot be cancelled that day.
Support messages are retained only as needed to handle your request, relevant follow-up and any applicable record-keeping obligations. Ask us to delete them when no longer needed. We may need enough information to verify a request. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict information, or complain to your local privacy authority.
7. Website
This static website is hosted on GitHub Pages. We have not added advertising, analytics trackers, a tracking cookie banner, account forms or a payment form. Your chosen light/dark appearance is stored locally in your browser and can be cleared through site data settings. GitHub may process IP addresses and technical request logs to deliver and secure the site. Following an external link or sending email is governed by that provider's policies.
8. Younger users and changes
There is no age-verification or children's account feature. A parent or guardian should help younger users understand permissions and purchases. If you believe a child has sent personal information through support without appropriate consent, contact us to request review and deletion. Store age ratings and availability are provided with the relevant release.
